What does Cal/OSHA require for farm crews?
California farm crews need one toilet and one handwashing facility for every 20 workers or fraction of 20, under Cal/OSHA 8 CCR 3457. The facilities must be within a quarter-mile walk or 5 minutes, whichever is shorter. Employers with fewer than 5 workers may use one single-user toilet.
| Crew size | Toilets | Handwashing facilities |
|---|---|---|
| 1–20 | 1 | 1 |
| 21–40 | 2 | 2 |
| 41–60 | 3 | 3 |
| 61–80 | 4 | 4 |
| 81–100 | 5 | 5 |
From Cal/OSHA 8 CCR 3457. Separate toilets are required for each sex per 20 workers. Service records must be kept for 2 years. Not legal advice; confirm with your safety lead.
How do units keep up with a moving harvest crew?
Towable units on a small trailer move with a harvest crew from block to block, so the quarter-mile rule stays met as picking moves. Your crew lead can tow the trailer, or our driver can move it on the service visit. Fixed units suit dairies and ranch headquarters.
Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino harvest runs from August through October. Book field units in July.

What do plant shutdowns and warehouses need?
A plant shutdown needs at least one toilet per 20 workers of each sex under Cal/OSHA 8 CCR 1526, with handwashing nearby. Large crews on 10- or 12-hour shifts need service 2 to 3 times a week. We place clusters at each gate and break area, away from forklift lanes.
Share site safety rules, PPE requirements and gate hours. Our drivers can complete a site orientation when scheduled.

Do you leave service records for Cal/OSHA?
Every visit gets a dated service record, and we can email a monthly log. Cal/OSHA 8 CCR 3457 asks growers to keep these records for 2 years.
Do handwashing stations have the required sign?
Our stations carry a sign stating the water is for handwashing only, as 3457 requires.
Can you serve dairies and poultry ranches around Petaluma?
Ranches in Two Rock, Lakeville, Bloomfield and Chileno Valley are close to our yard and on our regular routes.
What does a season of field units cost?
Field units are billed per 28-day cycle with weekly service. A standard unit plus a handwashing station typically runs $350–$525 per cycle. We quote the full season up front.
Can you service more than once a week?
Crews over 20 per unit or hot inland blocks should book 2 visits a week. Add it any time.
